Mesh for SUI vs POP rss

Is it ok to jump right into “minor” surgery for SUI?

Surgery, regardless of how minor, is still surgery.  Right? There are risks.   If there is surgical mesh involved (which includes “tape” and “slings”) there are “ADDED RISKS” (according to the FDA warnings and research).   Common sense, and good doctors, tell people that going under the knife for anything should not be something to… Read More ›

Doctors STILL Recommend Mesh for SUI

…the fact of the matter is that there are MANY mesh slings for SUI (Stress Urinary Incontinence) that ARE in litigation, because they are also causing major complications. SIMS (Single-incision Mini-slings) Cause Mesh Complications Too

Not too long ago, a doctor told me that mini-slings used for SUI,  or “tape” (as many now call the mesh slings), are not causing any of the mesh complications we are hearing about.   I disagreed.  While I did not have a mini-sling (I had a TOT), I tried to explain that I knew of… Read More ›
