They think because of them, people are being scared away from surgeries for hernia, prolapse, and incontinence that are done with surgical mesh. Not because of the risky mesh products…. no, they think it’s just because of all the “hype” of those… Read More ›

…the fact of the matter is that there are MANY mesh slings for SUI (Stress Urinary Incontinence) that ARE in litigation, because they are also causing major complications. Even some of the newest, smallest, SIMS (Single-incision Mini-slings) cause mesh complications too, and have lawsuits against them.
You can NOT make these serious mesh complications go away by telling a patient that the mesh is all gone if, in fact, it is NOT. We need REAL help. We need it REMOVED for real!
Pain would start by my obturator muscle/hip/groin area, & go all the way down my leg. The pathology report from my TOT mesh sling removal surgery confirmed that the mesh was causing FBR, inflammation, muscle damage/spasms… It had eroded through my obturator muscle and abductor muscles, and attached to my pelvic bone where Dr Raz scraped it off.
Constant pain, & not being able to walk (even with pain meds & crutch) will change your life dramatically, and quickly. Trust me.
Still, I was LUCKY.
