Pain would start by my obturator muscle/hip/groin area, & go all the way down my leg. The pathology report from my TOT mesh sling removal surgery confirmed that the mesh was causing FBR, inflammation, muscle damage/spasms… It had eroded through my obturator muscle and abductor muscles, and attached to my pelvic bone where Dr Raz scraped it off.
Constant pain, & not being able to walk (even with pain meds & crutch) will change your life dramatically, and quickly. Trust me.
Still, I was LUCKY.
MOST doctors will only offer a partial removal when someone presents with mesh complications. Many say full mesh removal is too risky and therefore not recommended. Is this true? Or is this just this doctor’s opinion?
The hunt is on for doctors who do “traditional”, non-mesh, repairs for POP (Pelvic Organ Prolapse), SUI (Stress Uriniary Incontenence), Hernia, and/or have experience with FULL mesh removal and repairs for damages caused by mesh complications.
I keep finding videos, and websites, where doctors are still promoting the use of mesh, for POP (Pelvic Organ Prolapse), and especially for SUI (Stress urinary incontinence) and hernia repairs. This is in spite of all the reported complications, and warnings. Are there Good and Bad mesh products?
So many are suffering.
Yet the media, doctors, & the government, are all conveniently burying their heads in the sand – while literally billions of dollars are being made on the suffering of patients.
It’s NOT right.
